The request can seek the commitment date and authority, discharge or liberation time, authority for release, any maintained release or transfer code, the receiving agency, and an associated booking photograph. Some requested fields are not guaranteed statutory calendar fields. Kansas law permits reasonable actual-cost fees and advance payment. Under K.S.A. 45-218, an agency that cannot grant access at once must explain the delay and provide the earliest availability by the end of the third business day. That is a response deadline, not a promise of production within three days.
Republic County Jail Facts
Republic County Jail is the only detention facility confirmed in the county's official sources. The Republic County Sheriff's Department operates it. The official contact page identifies Sheriff David Cox as of the research access date. Belleville Police Department is an arresting agency, but its official page does not establish a separate city jail. A Belleville arrest that leads to detention must be traced through the actual custodian and the correct court.
The 226 figure comes from the sheriff's 2022 year-end report in Republic County commission records. It describes how many inmates the facility held during that year. It is not a bed-capacity figure, a count of unique people, a release total, or evidence of average stay. No verified capacity should be inferred from it.

VINE is a notification service, not the certified Republic County Jail release record. A notice may not state the legal reason, destination, court disposition, or whether another custodian assumed control. Save the reporting agency, exact status, event date, and time of access. Then confirm the event with the sheriff when the kind or timing of release matters.
Republic County Jail Facility Proposal
Republic County's official departments page documented a November 4, 2025 special ballot question. It concerned authority for up to $17.86 million to construct and equip a new public-safety and law-enforcement facility at 1192 Bell Lane. That record shows a proposal and public process. It does not establish that a replacement jail opened or began processing releases.
Until an official operational announcement says otherwise, the existing Republic County Sheriff's Department contact remains the working source for jail records and release confirmation. Do not send a records request to the proposed site based only on the ballot material. Confirm any future address or operating change on the county or sheriff page first.
